Channel Registration Form
All channels on CCNet exist for the
purpose of ministering to the various needs of those who chat here. As a
channel owner you will be responsible for overseeing a ministry, not
just a place to chat. You will be held accountable for anything
occurring in your channel and for the actions of those you choose to
staff it with. If at any time server admin feels your channel is a
hindrance to this ministry, it may be removed.
Those who apply for channels should have experience in ministering in
existing ccnet channels. They also must have 8 supporters who can verify
their ability to run a channel ministry. One of these supporters needs
to be a current channel owner.
By continuing with this form, you are agreeing to abide by the server
rules, found by typing /motd and by the rules of channels you chat in as
well as the authority of ircops and server admin. You also agree to the
following channel owner guidelines.
1. Channels are not a place to argue over religious beliefs or criticize
others for their beliefs. You agree to keep your channel from being a
place for arguments and insults.
2. Criticizing other channels or room monitors or ccnet ircops or admin
is not allowed on CCNet. The proper way to contact a channel owner about
a problem with their channel is to email chatbot@christian-chat.net with
the information and logs. All complaints or problems regarding AKILLs
are to be handled the same way. Anyone not following this policy may be
banned without notice.
3. Gossip and strife in channels will not be tolerated.
4. Inappropriate nicks, as described in the motd are not allowed on
CCNet. You are to request change as necessary. However, you are not to
judge harshly people by the nicks they choose. Unless it strictly
violates the server rules, you need to carefully consider whether you
should ask for it to be changed. *note* CCNet does not have a policy
against secular music nicks provided they are not disrespectful to God.
5. Other channels do not appreciate you advertising your channel in
their channel. Please respect this. In #lobby you may ask ops to make
announcements of Bible Studies or prayer times you are holding in your
channel. But it must be the op who announces it, not you. You may email
channel announcements to salti@christian-chat.net and they will be
announced in #Townhall meetings.
6. Anything that goes on in your channel is your responsibility. This
means it is your responsibility to add ops to keep the channel moderated
at all times. If problems arise due to lack of OPs moderating the
channel, your channel will be deleted without any notice.
7. As a channel owner there will sometimes be complaints against someone
getting banned or for whatever other reason. Users are asked to send all
complaints to chatbot@christian-chat.net and we will forward them to
you. It is your responsibility to respond to them (and cc us) in an
appropriate manner.
8. You are also responsible for maintaining your op list, adding,
deleting, room monitors, and adding your own rules to your channel. You
must properly train your ops and hold them accountable for their
actions. Failure to do so will result in your channel being removed.
9. #Townhall meetings are held weekly at 9 pm central on Tuesday nights.
This is a time when chatters from all channels gather for fellowship,
announcements, prayer, and study. All channel owners and ops are
expected to attend when possible and to pass announcements on to those
who chat in their channels. If you cannot attend a particular week, you
must make arrangements to ensure one of your ops does.
10. If at anytime, we do not feel your channel is being properly
maintained we reserve the right to delete it without any warning.
